SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER COLONEL COLM DOYLE TUESDAY 21ST FEBRUARY 2012
Nenagh Toastmasters is delighted to announce a special guest speaker at the club meeting at 8.15 pm (sharp) on Tuesday 21st February 2012 in the Abbey Court Hotel. Retired Colonel Colm Doyle will be our guest speaker. He was formerly head of the EU' monitoring mission in Bosnia during the war in the early 1990's. Col. Doyle was also a special envoy to Lord Carrington, one of the architects of the final peace agreement ending the war and who also chaired the International Peace Conference for the former Yugoslavia. More recently, Col. Doyle has testified at the war crimes trial of former Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic at The Hague.
So, come along and hear recent European history directly from a man who was on the front line. Hear how Col Doyle testimony at the international war crimes tribunal played a significant part in the uncovering of the truth of Radovan Karadzic's part in the shocking atrocities that were perpetrated in the former Yugoslavia.
